How to Freeze a Row in Microsoft Excel

Freezing a row in Microsoft Excel means to lock the column headers for a row. Let me explain. Lets say you have a spreadsheet. And in that spreadsheet in row 1 are all the headers for the columns which describe the data for each column.

So in cell A1 you could have dates, B1, product names, C1, prices and so forth. If you have a spreadsheet with enough data that you need to scroll in order to see, if you do not freeze the column headers they will scroll right along with the rest of the data.

Therefore we need to freeze the column headers so the data scrolls but not what describes what that data is.

In this tutorial I will show you how to freeze the first row in Microsoft Excel, which contains column headers.
